Since some of you are very curious about the new Major League Baseball Playoff System, I am going to explain it to you all. Since 1994, Major League Baseball always had a 8 team playoff. The two best teams would play the two lowest seeds (1 VS 4) and the middle two seeds (2 VS 3) would play each other for a best of five series (whoever wins 3 games first). The highest seeds would be home for the first two games and the last game if it were to get that far. With the new system, there is 10 teams and the rules are very different. The two lowest seeds on each conference (4 and 5) have a 1 game playoff to decide who goes on to the next round. After this game, the winner plays the number one seed and winds up that the lower seed gets to be home for the first 2 games and then the higher seed would get the rest of the games home. Lots of people do not like this system because they don't feel it is right that the lower seed gets to play home games first. I really don't like this system either and feel that it will not last long. Oh and by the way this is only a 1 year thing, I'm not sure why but that is how they set it up for this year.
Bobby, this is something new to me about the playoffs. I always watch the playoffs all the time, but i never knew the concept of it. Very interesting and good to know more about baseball.
