Long Week Ahead

This week is going to be one of the most hectic weeks that I have had in such a long time. Besides going to class and getting all of my work done, I have 10 baseball games as well. I have a game every day this week except for Friday and on Friday I need to go home to do 6 hours of observing. This week is going to be a very tiring one and I'm most certainly going to be drained by Sunday night. On a bright side, our team is finally winning games and yesterday I got my first win of the season. We're hoping to win all our games this week and advance into first place in our conference. We have a home game on Wednesday at 3 so it would be nice to have some support.

Back to Reality

Well I had a pretty good spring break down in Florida, besides the fact that our team did not play as well as we had hoped. Down there, we did not win a game and our record sits at 0-9 for the moment. Even though our record is 0-9, we lost five games by 1 run. It was tough to not win any games down in Florida, but we are all convinced that our team is going to click and start winning games. Besides the games, the weather down there was amazing, except for one day where it rained. The weather was at least 72 degrees everyday and I got a lot of color down there, I've been peeling for days now. We got to relax by the pool and jacuzzi every night. We have two games today at home so we are hoping to win both games and get back on the right track.

The New Playoff System for Major League Baseball

Since some of you are very curious about the new Major League Baseball Playoff System, I am going to explain it to you all. Since 1994, Major League Baseball always had a 8 team playoff. The two best teams would play the two lowest seeds (1 VS 4) and the middle two seeds (2 VS 3) would play each other for a best of five series (whoever wins 3 games first). The highest seeds would be home for the first two games and the last game if it were to get that far. With the new system, there is 10 teams and the rules are very different. The two lowest seeds on each conference (4 and 5) have a 1 game playoff to decide who goes on to the next round. After this game, the winner plays the number one seed and winds up that the lower seed gets to be home for the first 2 games and then the higher seed would get the rest of the games home. Lots of people do not like this system because they don't feel it is right that the lower seed gets to play home games first. I really don't like this system either and feel that it will not last long. Oh and by the way this is only a 1 year thing, I'm not sure why but that is how they set it up for this year.
